Sizzix Where Women Cook Collection!

Wednesday, January 29th, 2014

Ever since I bought my first box die I have been addicted to making treat boxes and I have to tell you that Sizzix Where Women Cook Collection by Jen Long has some delightful little boxes, along with cupcake wrappers, tags and label dies! No matter what kind of treat you are planning to give, there is a darling die to help you spice it up!

While at CHA I didn’t think I would be able to get pictures of this display because there were constant demos, but while waiting in line to get a photo op with Tim Holtz, the crowd thinned enough that I was able to grab just a few. Yay!

I have acquired a couple of the Movers & Shapers dies from this fabulous line and have made all of my little Valentine’s Day treat boxes with them. I have completed 19 of these adorable little boxes and want to make more! They are SO EASY! I especially enjoyed using my Bo Bunny Head Over Heels paper for the complete Valentine look, but any heavier paper or card stock will do depending on the occasion. They are cute even if you just use plain card stock.

I used double sided paper, as both pieces to the box are on the same die and are cut at the same time, so one side is used for the top and the other for the slide out box. Since this is a Movers & Shapers, make sure that you put whichever insert you want in the space provided unless you don’t want a cut-out there, in which case you would leave it empty.

I use  Scor-Tape because it is much easier to work with and much less messy than glue. It also gives a good strong hold so I’m not worried about my box falling apart before it gets to the recipient. I can assemble these babies in no time at all using Scor-Tape on all pieces.

To keep my treats from falling through the cut-out on top, I cut pieces from left over packaging that I save from my dies just for projects such as this. Scor-Tape around the edges and stick it on the bottom side. Once on it doesn’t look like there is anything there, but the candy can’t fall out! Its perfect, and technically doesn’t cost anything, so don’t throw away all of your die packaging!

Products Used:
659198-Sizzix Movers & Shapers XL Die Box, Match
659194-Sizzix Movers & Shapers 2PK Yum & 4U
15316105-Bo Bunny Head Over Heels 12×12 Collection Pack
202-Scor-Pal Scor-Tape 1/4″
Plastic cut from die packaging

I’m telling you, that you will get hours and hours of enjoyment from the Sizzix Where Women Cook  collection of dies no matter which ones you choose. After all, most of us cook and most of us like to share what we cook, and if you are reading this then you must like paper crafting, so why not combine all three and make those delicious treats look even more delectable with a cute tag, label or treat box? I think it just adds a nice little finishing touch.  How much fun is that? Your friends will want you to make all of their little gifts too!

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!

Magnolia CHA 2014 Booth!

Thursday, January 23rd, 2014

For those of you who are Tilda and Edwin fans, you will go nuts over what I have to show you in the Magnolia CHA 2014 booth! Their designers are incredible with making elaborately elegant creations with the simply cute designs of Tilda and Edwin. I am in awe! The images will be available for order on our website as soon as we get the okay to make them available, so keep an eye out!

I will just let the video speak for itself and I hope that you will forgive me for a few spots where I was slightly out of focus. My apologies.

Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed what you saw on display. There was more, but I just didn’t have the time to show you everything, as much as I would have liked to.

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014

I am finally back to continue our tour, and today features Sizzix CHA 2014 booth! Oh my goodness, there was SO much to see there! To be quite honest, I’m not sure I got everything, because there was so much to see! If you like Sizzix, you will LOVE all of the new products that they will be coming out with over the next year! This is your sneak peek to make notes of all the things you see here for your wish list.

I know I was able to get shots of Brenda Walton, Stephanie Barnard, Lori Whitlock and Susan’s Garden goodies, so I know that will get you excited for sure! I even got a shot of Susan and Stephanie giving demos,  but Susan moves so much that I couldn’t get her to hold still! She is adorable though, so I couldn’t help but smile at her and hope one of my shots turned out. Yup, only one!

Tim Holtz at CHA 2014!

Friday, January 17th, 2014

One of the highlights of my trip last week was seeing Tim Holtz at CHA 2014! If you have never met him, let me tell ya, he has so much energy! I don’t know how he does it. He runs all over the show doing demos at several booths, meets with vendors and retailers, and still takes the time to answer questions and allows you grab a photo with him! He really knows how to do his P.R. and make you feel at ease.

I also want to share photos of some of his new dies and Textured Impressions pending release through Sizzix that were on display at the show. Again, this area was swamped with people which prevented me doing video, there were demos going on which caused the high traffic, but at least I got photos! I may have some already released product mixed in, but that’s okay, especially if you haven’t seen it yet! Have fun looking!

Bo Bunny Booth CHA 2014!

Thursday, January 16th, 2014

Today is crazy, so it will be a quick view of Bo Bunny Booth CHA 2014. Sorry BB! I hope I can still capture the essence of their fun new products!

A little while back our designer Patti Senter showed us a wonderful video in her blog post using Bo Bunny’s Head over Heels Collection which was a lot of fun. You can refer to it HERE if you want to see what she did with her mini album. It turned out darling!

Unfortunately, this booth was so busy by the product that I couldn’t get in there well enough to video, so I just took some photos of the different product to show you. I hope you can see it well enough, but if not, you will soon be able to go to our Bo Bunny Category to the individual lines. The new lines are not being released until February, but we are getting products on our site as soon as we can!

I may have missed a couple because it was busy and I was in a frantic rush, so I apologize if I missed one that you wanted to see. I really tried!

There’s much more to cover from CHA, so we’ll do one more tomorrow along with one of our newest designers, Crystal Thompson, and then we will resume next week!

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!

Spellbinders CHA 2014 Booth!

Tuesday, January 14th, 2014

Oh boy, do I have some fun goodies to show you today from Spellbinders CHA 2014 Booth! As soon as I walked in the convention center doors I made a bee line for their booth to see my Spellbinders friends. I truly look forward to seeing them at each show and sharing giggles and learning from them.

I had heard that designer Cindy Echtinaw had a brilliant idea baby that she was demonstrating, so I couldn’t wait to find out what she had in store! I have said it before and I will say it again- she is brilliant! When I saw what the Tool n’ One did, I told her that she was most definitely an inventor. The rest of us would still be sitting over the garbage can poking individual pieces out of our die cuts, but she actually thinks of practical solutions to our common problems. Genius!

This little device has all your tools at your fingertips. It is a portable tool that performs multiple craft functions, including piercing, paper removal and more. In addition, it provides a unique storage solution. What is the solution? The Tool n’ One’s attachments are housed within the “pod” of its main body. The tool easily crosses over for other hobbyists using small pieces and parts such as airplane models and miniature houses.

From innovative Card Creator releases to their newest IN’Spire line, Spellbinders has once again exceeded our expectations for die cutting. I really was in awe of the magnificent designs that I saw, let alone the projects that were created with them. There is no way you could be there and not be inspired with these products!  Ideas ran wild through my head and I wished I could take one of each home to play with! You can see some of the projects below.

Oh, and if you are into mixed media, they have lots of new products for you to drool over in there mixed media line! Mother and daughter design team Debbie and Shea have created beautiful designs for mixed media that will have you making all of your own jewelry and adornments!

BTW, I just HAD to take a photo of this for all of you chocolate lovers! It was a sin to pass by their chocolate bar and not take a picture with a couple pieces of chocolate. I’m actually surprised that this wasn’t designated the official meeting place for everyone at the convention!

I really hope that you will grab some chocolate of your own and browse through all of the new Spellbinders product that is currently on our Pre-Order category, or under New Products in the Spellbinders category. I just know you will find something that your craft room needs in your supplies!

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!
