What are Nestabilities?

Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies are numerous die template shapes at 1/4th and 1/8th inch increments that develop gorgeous scrapbooking pages. Like a lot of dies these are metal wafer thin that enable you to cut, emboss, and stencil all in a single. One with the significant distinctions is always that with nesting dies you’ve about six or seven that are available in a package deal which can be excellent for stacking to make a 3-D nesting impact at an affordable value. They’re universal and function in most die cutting machines.

How do I use these dies in my die cutting machine?

These red rubber stamps come mounted on cling foam so you can use them with any acrylic block (not included). Great for using with Tim’s signature distressing inks! Each package contains one 8 1/2 x 7″ sheet of stamps on a 3-hole punched sheet for easy storage. Available in a variety of themes. Size and number of stamps per sheet varies by theme. Made in USA.

Tim Holtz has his line of dies in which he has teamed up with Sizzix. You will find Tim’s name on Bigz dies, Bigz XL, Decorative Strip, Movers and Shapers, and On the Edge dies.

Tim Holtz Embossing Folders:

Tim has created his own unique line of embossing folders Texture Fades and Texture Trades that give your project deep impressions.

Texture Fades

Texture fades are designed to have a distressed look to them and made by Sizzix. This was done by creating the folder with some areas less raised as others so the impressing would not go as deep, giving the image a faded or distressed look.

Texture Trades

Texture Trades also made by Sizzix were designed with ATC creators in mind. Therefore, these are smaller versions of embossing folders specifically for ATC’s.

Tim Holtz Inks & Markers

From Ranger and designed exclusively for Tim Holtz are the Distress Ink pads and Distress Markers . Tim Holtz Distress Inks are a collection of 36 acid-free, non-toxic, fade resistant, water-based dye inks. They are perfect for the new vintage, stained, aged effect crafters are creating in their altered books, scrapbook pages, cards and paper craft projects. Tim selected the colors and helped develop these inks to produce a realistic, weathered look on paper, photos and decorative fibers. All the colorful Distress Inks afford added versatility when photo tinting and color layering with the original, award winning tones. Tim Holtz Paper:

Tim’s artistic talents and taste are evident in his collections by Core’dinations and Idea-ology. He doesn’t stick with card stock or printed paper either! His line of Grungepaper and Grungeboard are unique.  What is Grungeboard? A compressed, flexible sheet of dingy material that is more pliable, inkable, sandable, paintable, embossable and grungable than similar surfaces. It is similar to the hand of leather. Use them to embellish scrapbook pages, cards and other art projects. Made of recycled materials. Grungepaper is a thinner form of Grungeboard with the same grungeable properties.

Well, I am going to do my best to help out with these questions and show you comparisons! I am including two videos; one that will hopefully help you identify the different manufactures that make embossing folders, names, sizes, styles, and even Cut@Home pricing, which will enable you to choose which folders you want. We carry embossing folders from Cuttlebug, Quickutz, Sizzix, Spellbinders, and Tim Holtz!

The second will show you how to navigate our site directly to the different manufacturer’s embossing folders. A brand new feature that was added after taping this video is our Embossing Folder Theme which will take you to view ALL embossing folders in our store, including some Bigz dies that come with a coordinating Textured Impressions embossing folder which were not included in our video.

Before I do that just what to clarify real quick what embossing is:
Embossing is a technique that makes a raised image on cardstock or other materials. By having an embossing tool and dies that have an edge one can simply run the die or also known as an embossing folder through the emboss machine with your desired paper or card.

Hopefully these videos will be informative for you!

Here is the second video on navigating the site to find them. You may also look under THEME if you are into scrapbooking by theme and will find “embossing folders” there as well. Another hint as well is if you see in this image to the right under every folder and product we carry will list the brand, type of die and die name to which you can click on any if you want to see ALL. Very useful!

We have found that the majority of these embossing folders will work in most machines! The sandwich formulas are pretty much the same for Cuttlebug, Quickutz, Textured Impressions, Texture Fades and Texture Fades, so if you have used one of those in your particular machine, you already know how to use the rest.

Spellbinders M-Bossabilities will use a different sandwich formula as they are thicker due to embossing images on both sides of the folder. We have videos showing the M-Bossabilities sandwich formula that you will use with most of the die cutting machines we carry that will be well worth looking at HERE!

Okay, so maybe I will never be a romance novelist, and I admit that I have never physically set foot on English soil, but that is immediately what came to my mind when I saw this collection!
