Home from CHA!

Well readers, I made it back from not so sunny California and have been busy getting the store ready for the new releases! Most of my vendors are shipping their new product in February. Spellbinders had a great response to all their new dies, and they had to place a second order to China while I was there. Their first shipment is going to be spread pretty thin over all their distributors and stores, and the second shipment will not be arriving until mid April. So what does this mean? You may want to consider pre-ordering if there is a die or two you HAVE to have right away. Otherwise you are taking a chance on not getting in on their first shipment.

In other news, I saw the Cricut cake. For those of you who have ever wanted to have a business of cake decorating, this is for you! It cuts fondant! I saw the most beautifully decorated cupcakes! I also saw Ellison’s new digital machine Eclips. I will have that available for pre-order soon. It will be a special order item and I will be pricing it at $399.99 (reg price $499.99). They have some new TI’s coming out which I love, as well as more dies. I saw the new Provocraft folders and dies. They are doing a bundle with this release with some of their new folders, and they won’t be sold separately. The good news is that you get a better value, but the bad news is there may be a folder you don’t like in with ones you do, and in order to get the ones you like you have to get the one you don’t! I ordered a bunch of the new Petaloo flowers. They have a wedding line coming out with white and silver jeweled florettes. Gorgeous! Also, they heard all you scrappers out there and have large daisies for your 12 x 12 pages in the most brilliant colors. So I will be having a sale on some of my Petaloo embellishments to make room for the new stuff.

OH! I saw the new Basic Grey paper: Green at Heart, Kioshi, Capella and Max & Whiskers. The Green at Heart is a must have!! LOVE the pinks and greens. The Kioshi is all about having a Zen experience with clean lines and soft colors. Capella is for your formal layouts and Max is a really fun dog/cat theme in bright colors. I also stopped by and saw My Minds Eye new paper. The Quite Contrary line is really darling, again, in the greens and pinks, however, they don’t have the kits with this line and open stock is really hard with an online store. So I will probably just be carrying the kits. Hands down, my favorite paper is the vintage line from G45.

So I have finished visiting all the booths and my feet are killing me, however I have some wonderful NEW product news and highlights of the day at the Craft and Hobby Association for our customers that you all will love!

Spellbinders
Spellbinders Paper Arts BIG announcement was their brand new machine, “Presto Punch“. This is the first automatic punch and embossing system and is REALLY cool! This is a perfect machine for any that have arthritis or even a beginner as it is so easy to use. You can cut & emboss and store 30 punches all in one PUNCH! It is battery operated, but they will be coming out with power adapters for the U.S. and International that will be sold separately. We already have this on our Pre-Order page and ALL the Punch Templates too. At only 62.99 (cut@home price) it’s affordable and only weights about 4 lbs making it portable too! All I can say is what a FUN machine and I’m really impressed with the QUALITY!

Scor-Pal (Scor Pal)
I saw the new Scor Buddy. This is like your best friend that can ALWAYS be with you and go where ever you go, including your cropping parties. This is a mini scor-pal that measures about 7″ long and basically does cards and smaller projects! Easy to use and super portable!

Basic Grey
Basic Grey is coming out with some AMAZING new paper pads: green at heart, pinks and green, florals (this one is gorgeous), kioshi (green, lavender, aqua colors).

Sizzix
Watched the DEMO of the new electronic die cutting machine called the “eclips”. REALLY neat!

My Minds Eye
They have heard customers and are releasing Lil Robot, which is a boys paper line and is really CUTE!

Quickutz Resolutions Collection Brand New Releases

We have new dies from Quickutz to introduce to you today! The Resolutions Collection is all about fitness, health and helping you eat well, rise early and scrap often! So here are just a few to get you started. To view all the new dies, go to Quickutz New Products.

Here is the new 4×8 alphabet – Garden. The curves of the letters are nice and clean and at 3/4″ tall they will fit on all your A2 cards and tag or labels dies. The “Weighty Issue” layout by Samantha VanArnHem uses the REV-0302 Scale in a unique way. “Castaway Cay” layout by Pamela Gandolfi scraps a great cruise using the REV-0305 Cruise Ship Grand die with the Garden Mini alpha. One of my favorite layouts is from Michele Hamby, “Running Resolutions”. She used the Garden Alphabet and the CC-SHAPE-080-2 Runner dies which is obvious, but what I LOVE is her creative use of the CC-SHAPE-083-5 Golf die! Can you spot it? She used the banner, flags, turf, clouds and circle to create a great backdrop for her runner.

All these projects used the CC-SHAPE-082-2 Door Knob Reminder. The first project uses the die a little differently. Pamela made a bottle hanger! What a great idea to wish your athlete good luck. She also designed the “Things to Do” project. Michele combined the Door Knob Hanger die with the REV-0298 Spa Doll to create a great bathroom door knob hanger!

Next we have some really great Cookie Cutter borders – CC-BDR-061 Months of the Year and CC-BDR-062 Days of the Week. They measure 11″ tall and about 2″ wide so they will fit on your 12 x 12 scrapbook pages. We have two projects using each of the dies. The “Celebrations” by Michele is a great way to scrap any special day. She chose a birthday. Using the cc-ovals-01 Nesting Ovals she put a red ring around the month and used the numbers from the Garden Mini alpha for the date. The next project “What’s for Dinner” by Samantha is really innovative way to menu plan! She used a 12 x 12 frame so you can write with a dry erase marker right on the glass! Clever! The next project shown by Michele shows a runners commitment to run every single day! She used the Garden Mini Alphabet and the Runner die. The last project by Samantha gives you a great idea of what you could do to highlight the activities for each month. She chose October and did this great Halloween layout.

Happy Martin Luther King Day!

Here in the states we celebrate the birthday of a prominent civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. It is a national holiday so that means the banks, school and the post offices are closed. However, we were not. It was work as usual for my customer service and shipping departments. And for me too as I am trying to get ready for CHA in Anaheim this weekend. If you received a ship notify email that your order was shipped, please add on an extra day as it will be shipped tomorrow. We are still waiting on quite a few Quickutz orders to arrive. Everyone is a little slower than usual shipping my orders are they are also getting ready for CHA, so we appreciate your patience.

Last day of the Spellbinders Surprise Party blog frenzy!

We got more Nestabilities labels ladies and gents – woohoo! I am soooo excited about the new labels and I know you will be too. Take a look!

How many ways can you say gorgeous! Look at these beautiful vintage cards designed by Sherry Cheever with the S4246 Labels Eleven!You may be “bad to the bone” but your designs are soooo good!

Kimberly Crawford had the pleasure of designing these projects wit the Labels Twelve. I have two views of the Photo Box so you can see it is not just a pretty box! Her second project is a “Sending You Sunshine and Laughter” card. That’s exactly what she does with these projects!

TheS4248 Labels Thirteen sure was a lot of fun for Sharon Johnson! She made her favorite monogram cards and showed how you can turn the die to get a totally different look. Her second project was an ornament. This would be just too pretty to hang up once a year at Christmas. I would use it year round!

Well we hope you enjoyed this special sneak peak of some of the new Spellbinders dies that will be released at CHA in January 24th. They should begin shipping the third week in February but you don’t have to wait until then. They are all available on our pre-order page. Some of the dies are Limited Edition, so if you think you want them, please don’t wait to long to order. This is going to be one of Spellbinders most popular releases to date and we don’t want a repeat of the “Nest crisis of ‘08!” (for those of you who remember that summer, you know what I am talking about!!)
