Card Making: Sweet Lullaby Collection by Heartfelt Creations

Friday, July 11th, 2014

Heartfelt Creations has done it again, by creating a new collection of baby inspired paper, stamps and die sets in the Sweet Lullaby Collection. This is a great set to add to the craft room, as new baby gifts, tags and cards are needed year round.

HC paper

Today I am working with an intricate card using several items from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Lullaby Collection, Ranger Archival Ink, and  Spectrum Noir markers.

Let’ get started.

1. Select 2 sheets from your Heartfelt Creations Sweet Lullaby Collection paper pack and trim (1) 5.25 in x 4 in. to be the background of card.

2. Stamp Heartfelt Creations “Precious Lullaby PreCut Set”with Ranger Archival ink onto a alcohol marker paper.

3. Begin coloring stamped image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

4. Once stamp imagine coloring is done, proceed to trim and mat on cardstock. Leaving about .25 inch of cardstock exposed.

5.  With second sheet of Sweet Lullaby Collection paper, cut two paper ribbons .75 inch wide by 2 inches long.

6.  Glue paper ribbons on back of the stamped image, slightly overlapping.

7. Place 2 enamel dots on each corner, and garnish with 2 buttons glued with glue dots.

This card is beautiful and the stamps created by Heartfelt Creations have some incredible detail. I cannot wait to continue playing with these gorgeous stamps.

Here is a step-by-step video on this card, including how to color this image!

Spellbinders 3D M-Bossabilities and Tim Holtz Distress Inks

Tuesday, February 18th, 2014

Hi Everyone, I can hardly believe that we have already celebrated Valentine’s day, the next holiday coming up is St. Patrick’s day, so I made a couple of St. Patrick’s day cards to share with you using Spellbinders 3D M-Bossabiities and Tim Holtz Distress inks.

Here is a list of the supplies that I used that you can find at the Cut-at-Home on line store.

Card # 1

Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed 12 x 12 Paper Collection SKU: HCDPI 233
Spellbinders 3D M-Bossabilities, Oval Accent SKU: E3D-017
Echo Park St. Patricks Day Mini Theme 12 x 12 Collection SKU: SW3905
Silhouette-America Emerald Rhinestones 16ss SKU: SILH-RHINE-GRN16
Tim Holtz Distress inks, Peeled Paint SKU: TIM20233, Pine Needles SKU: TIM21476 and Iced Spruce SKU: TIM32878
I also used a few items from my stash for this card.

The first thing I did for both cards that I made was to emboss and ink the Spellbinder embossing folders that I used, the video below will walk you through the process.

After I finished the embossed backgrounds I was ready to make my cards. On the first card I decided to cut an oval from the Elegant Ovals die set, I used the second largest Oval for my card. I used my Big Shot to cut and emboss the oval, I used my tape runner and glued it to the center of the embossed oval, I wanted to use a shamrock in the middle of the card but I wanted some bling so I used my Silhouette Cameo to design a shamrock trimmed in rhinestones. I used a rhinestone setter to adhere the gems, the Silhouette gems are heat set gems and can be used with any setter. I also used a strip of coordinating paper and a buckle to dress the card up a little more. I also added a couple of stickers from thee sticker sheet that was included with the Mini thee paper kit. The card base is 5 X 7 which is the size of the embossing folder.
I had so much fun making the first card I decided to make another one! Here is a list of thee supplies for the second card.
Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed 12 x 12 Paper Collection SKU: HCDPI 233
Tim Holtz Distress inks in Peeled Paint SKU: TIM20233 and Evergreen Bough SKU: TIM32854
Spellbinders 3D M-Bossebilities Celtic Knot SKU: E3D-012
I also used Gold ink, washi tape and gems.

The first thing I did on the second card was the background as demonstrated in the video. I used some gold ink on this card as well since It was being made for a 50th anniversary.
I adhered my embossed piece to a 5 x 7 card base then sketched and cut a celtic knot and 4 shamrocks for the corners on my Silhouette Cameo. I also cut the heart and used the fill and print option that I shared with you in a previous video. For a finishing touch I added washi tape and gems.
Both of these cards were fun to make, the possibilities are endless with this technique so give it a try and have some fun!
Till next week, Thanks and Happy Scrappin

Dandelion Wishes Multi-purpose Layered Card

Friday, January 17th, 2014

Howdy and welcome! Today we are featuring My Favorite Things “Dandelion Wishes”stamp set shown in my Dandelion Wishes multi-purpose layered card below. This set is absolutely gorgeous and very versatile! I could not pick a project to start with because of all the possibilities. One of my favorite things about My Favorite Things is the selection of stamps with a distinctive air.  With this in mind I decided to go back to the basics; stamping and layering.

My Favorite Things Card

To begin this card was paper selection. Cut@home has a great selection of paper, and since I am a bit colored blind I played it safe and used DCWV  Blossom Song stack. This stack comes with 45 12″x 12″ sheets with a variety of glitter and solid card stock.  I love the ability to pick 3 sheets and know that the color combo is done for me.  I trimmed two pieces 2″ x 5.5″ and the green piece .5″x 4.5″.  On the green piece I made a little ribbon by simply cutting a “triangle” on the end.  Next I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circle on a light blue piece of card stock from my DCWV Blossom song stack.

Next I stamped 2 flower images on white card stock with pigment ink and cut them out. Once that is done I made this gorgeous banner with JustRite Stampers “Bunting and Buttons”.  These are some awesome dies that make the perfect banner every time. Again I use some glittered card stock from my DCWV Blossom Song stack. Once everything was cut, I simply put it together as follows: On the white card, glue a piece of your 2in strips. Second, glue your other piece of 2in strip slightly over that one. Next use foam adhesive on your circle and place that on top of the two pieces of patterned card stock. Once that is set, place your thin piece of patterned paper on top of the circle. Remember those cute flowers we stamped and cut? Well it is time for those babies to go on. I decided to use foam adhesive on one and regular glue dots on the other flower and stem. Now time for the perfect banner up at the corner.

Want2Scrap Bling

Last but not least I added some pearls from Want2Scrap Beautiful Bling Strips in Pink. Ta da! How easy was that?! You can use a sentiment from the My Favorite Things Dandelion Wishes, however I decided to leave my blank. For step by step instructions, you are welcome to watch my video tutorial!

Camping Layout

Friday, June 21st, 2013

Here is a camping layout for all those camping trips that you have planned this summer. This layout is made easy with Bo Bunny’s paper stack  “Trail Mix” because it has all sorts of different outdoor motifs that you can use for just about any outdoor occasion that you can think of. This was our annual family camping trip to a little lake up Ephraim Canyon called Lake Hill. We have a lot of fun catching fish, going on hikes, sitting around the campfire, and eating lots of good dutch oven cooking. We also used this corrugated paper from DCWV which is a lot of fun that you could in a lot of different situations also. So if you are planning anything outdoors give some of these papers a try.
