New DCWV Cotton Bloom Paper Stack!

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

Have I mentioned lately how much I love DCWV Paper Stacks? Well, I do! Of coarse, I don’t know if I have also mentioned that I am just a plain ol’ paper junkie! I love, love, love paper! Even as a kid I had an obsession for pretty stationery and note pads! I know from talking to many of you that there are those who share my obsession! Paper is a staple! You have to have it!

Over the weekend I got to play with DCWV Cotton Bloom Paper Stack! Oh, so cute!!! I had a blast! The hardest part was trying to figure out which pattern to use! It was hard to decide! The whole stack is great!

For my “Family” page I used two of the Grand Labels Eleven (Pre-order item due in March!) for my picture mats. My flowers were made with the Floral Doily Motifs (this has arrived and is in stock, and you can now use your coupon on this item!). I used 1″ Scor-Tape to apply my ribbon and flowers. (Have I told you how much I love Scor-Tape? I believe it was inspired just for those of us that like to use ribbon!)

For my Tiny Bubbles Layout I used a QuicKutz Circles Embossing Folder to make the bubble background for my title. For those of you who have never used these, QuicKutz Ebossing Folders are very similar and work the same as Provo Craft’s Cuttlebug embossing folders. My title is cut from QuicKutz Winter Wishes Holiday Gift Set with QuicKutz RS-0099 Bubbles 2×2 die.

As you can see, the paper in this stack is adorable! I hope you enjoy it too!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

We’re Introducing JustRite Stampers!

Friday, February 11th, 2011

For all of you who are stampers, or who would like to be stampers, we would like to bring to your attention JustRite Stampers! I think you will be very  impressed with their products!I know that I am!

Now, I will admit that I have dabbled with stamps here and there, but never really knew what to do with them, so they have been a tiny bit intimidating! Since bringing on a couple of stamp companies, I am finding that I really want to do more with stamps! There are so many beautiful stamps out there!

For starters, JustRite are grooved on the back of the stamps which fit perfectly into the grooved surface of their coordinating stampers! This is great since you can mix and match borders, centers and fonts and they will match up perfectly to make your stamp unique to its purpose!

They offer wood stampers in different sizes, as well as clear stampers, which help you to see exactly where you want to place your image or sentiment. They also coordinate with some Spellbinder dies, Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Punches and even a few EK Success and Stampin’ Up punches!

They also offer a line of Cling Stamps and acrylic blocks that you can mix and match also!Mix and match with a variety of themes, verses, sentiments and alphabets!

I did a little playing last night with the JustRite Stamps to show you some examples.

For my chocolate kiss vase I used JB-09500 1 5/8″ Clear Stamper with the JB-09720 Romantic Sentiments Centers for the flower centers. For the main center I used my I-Top Tool and a large Brad-Daddy. The flowers are Petaloo- Love You  Flora Doodles. I placed the main flower on a back made from S5-027 Labels Twenty One, which I cut out on my Cuttlebug.

My card was as easy as can be! I stamped two images using the Cling Stamps CL-02075 You Inspire Me in two different shades of blue, punched the bottom with a scalloped punch, cut by hand the top image then used adhesive foam to stack them. The center was stamped and punched with  a circle punch. I used Martha Stewart border punches for the edges.

Of course I have to do a scrapbook page, so I started with paper from DCWV Nana’s Nursery 12 x 12 paper stack. The stamps are from JB-09265 The Greatest Joy Set. I used #4 die from Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, then #4 die of Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and #4 Beaded Ovals die. The butterfly is from the new Fanciful Flight Set ( I love this set!) and Petaloo Love You Flora Doodles.

You’ve really got to give these stamps a try! They are great to use! Easy clean-up too! I’m sure that you will come up with some great projects!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Bling From Want2Scrap!

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Last week I showed you all the Nestabling from Want2Scrap. Today I want to show you examples of their fabulous line of Rhinestone Gems and Pearls! Individually self adhesive,  you don’t need to break them off of a strip just to use one or two for a project! There are a variety of colors to choose from, with 72 Rhinestones or Pearls per sheet! The Baby Bling contains 100 pieces per package!

For my greeting card, I used pattern paper from the DCWV Luxury Mat Stack for my card front, the rose, leaves and tag.  The rose and leaves are made with S5-050 Rose Creations. The tag is #1 of S4-317 Fleur De Lis Rectangles.  I molded and  inked the edges of my rose petals with ink, then put them all together with a brad before putting one of the large 2226 Pink Pearls on top of the brad. I used all sizes on two corners with the smallest pearls placed along the swirls of the paper. It is easier to place the small pearls with a pair of craft tweezers, but it is not necessary.

For my A2 card I used S5-025 Labels Seventeen die #6 for the white background. The #4 die from S4-316 Heart Circles, then cut my picture out with #6 die from S4-114 Standard Circles Large to place in the center. I inked around the card and hearts, then used 6244 Red Baby Bling to spruce it up! Baby Bling also comes in a variety of colors!

I recommend using craft tweezers for sure with the Baby Bling! They are so cute, but very tiny!

If you enjoy bling, then Want2Scrap has something for you! We also have Bling Strips, Brackets and Swirls! We are still adding this product line to our website, so keep watching over the next week or so!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Ladies love fashion, and DCWV has most definitely put on a runway show! This year for CHA they did an amazing job of showing us their newest line of paper stacks, literally, on a dress form! Using their Natural, Black Currant, Mariposa, Immortal Love, and Luxury 2 Paper Stacks, they have shown us that folded paper has incredible potential! We were so excited over their video that we don’t want you to miss out!

Ladies, this is one of the most creative  shows I have ever seen! Turn on your speakers, and get ready to be swept away in paper fashion!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’

Coming Soon! Nestabling!

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Do your eyes sparkle when you see bling? If so, you are going to be dazzled by  Nestabling! Created by Want2Scrap, this line of rhinestone designs coordinate perfectly with the Spellbinder Nestabilities die templates! Customers will have the luxury of choosing Nestabling styles to go along with popular Spellbinders’ designs as well as some of the brand new 2011 CHA releases! Offered in a variety of colors. Make your projects sparkle! These awesome rhinestone designs are fun and easy to work with! Want2Scrap will start shipping the new releases April 1st! See video below:

You will also want to use their Bling, Baby Bling, Rhinestone Gems, Pearls, Strips Bling, Brackets, and Swirls! You’ll want to add a little bling to everything! These items will be arriving soon!

I was introduced to Nestabling using the 2011 release that coordinates with S5-030 Fancy Tags Two!  Here are a few quick projects that I used them for!

For my first project I used paper from DCWV 12 x 12 Whimsy Paper Stack, S4-311 Labels Nineteen, S5-030 Fancy Tags Two with coordinating Nestabling!

This card was unbelievably easy using DCWV 4.5 x 6.5 Whimsy Mat Stack, S5-030 Fancy Tags Two with coordinating Nestabling! Fast, easy and pretty! It looks like I spent hours using glitter and rhinestones! NOT!!!

I love to scrap my granddaughter! She may be little, but she cracks me up with her big personality! She is already showing off like a “Little Clown”, so I decided on Graphic 45 Le Cirque 12 x 12 paper pad. The colors are as vibrant as she is, so it is perfect! I also used LF-246 Grand Labels Eleven and, of coarse, S5-030 Fancy Tags Two with Nestabling! After all, the Big Top has pizazz!

I can’t wait until the new Nestabling arrives! It is such a quick and easy embellishment and adds so much to your project! I am sold!

Keep watch for these items coming soon!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’

Hearts, Hearts and more Hearts!

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

So many choices to choose from! When trying to decide what to use for my Valentine’s Day projects, I have a hard time choosing what I want to use!

There is the S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart which I can pair with the S4-136 Classic Heart from Spellibinders, or the elegant S4-296 Nested Hearts.

Quickutz has a variety of hearts as well as KS-0788 Cupid and even a cute RS-0305 Chocolate Drop which is perfect for my chocoholic daughter! I tell you, it is a tough decision!

For my first project, I went with the #1 die of the S4-296 Nested Hearts. Placing a piece of velum with a sheet of DCWV Black Current paper, I cut and embossed them together.  I used the #5 die from the S4-294 Beaded Ovals and #5 die from the S4-112 Classic Ovals Small for the background and embellished with small pearls and ribbon!

Next, I wanted to make a sugar cookie card to go with the sugar cookies I make my kids every year for Valentines!

I used the S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart #5 die for the back, the S4-136 Classic Heart #5 die for the card. To cut the heart so it will open like a card, I folded a piece of card stock in half then placed the card stock on the die just inside the top of the die so it would not be cut.  I then ran the card through the 37-1139 Heart Blocks embossing folder for some dimension and glued on the back! Since my children have the “Key to my Heart“, I used that KS-0790 die from Quickutz to cut the embellishment from Spellbinders Craft Foil! Add some ribbon to tie them together and voila!

For this project, I used a cardboard canister that had arrived in the mail which I thought would make a great treat canister!

I used sheets of paper from My Minds Eye Simply Delightful stack to cover the canister and the tag. (Notice the heart shapes on the paper?) I cut the tag using S4-301 Labels Sixteen #4 and #5 dies and finished it off with cutting two hearts with RS-0003 Heart and a stamp from Stampin’ Up!

I had lots of fun with these and they didn’t take long at all! With Valentines Day fast approaching, I hope to have more projects with hearts to share!

Happy Scrappin’

A visit with Heartfelt Creations at the Scrapbook USA Expo!

Monday, September 13th, 2010

The Cut@Home girls had a great time at the Scrapbook USA Expo in Sandy Utah on Friday.  For those of you who have never been, this event is really a lot of fun. The vendors are set up around the perimeter of the room and in the middle are tables where people bring all their scrapbook supplies and gather as friends and family to crop ’til you drop! There is food, music and prizes to keep you going all day and night!

We found some great deals on paper from DCWV and embellishments at Basic Grey! Imaginisce was there with their great little tools, the I-top and I-Roc and we saw the new Sizzix TIEF’s – sooo cute!

The highlight was visiting with our friends Emma Lou and Richard from Heartfelt Creations! As you know, Heartfelt Creations is our very first rubber stamp company here at Cut@Home. We chose to lead off with them because of their stunning designs, superb quality and the coordinating Spellbinders stamps and exclusive dies.  Emma Lou is always so gracious and fun to work with.

From left to right is Tauna, Emma Lou, Janeth and Shaylee (my granddaughter!) and Carrie. We are a happy bunch! :-)

Happy Scrappin!
