Quickutz Be Spooked Gone Batty!

Friday, September 30th, 2011

I have had more fun with the new Be Spooked and Be Stuffed Collections by Quickutz lately than I can tell you! These dies are not intended just for layouts and cards!

As you can see from my BOO wood project, I grabbed one of the DC0189-Nesting Ghosts and one of the DC0191-Bats to embellish. I have to admit that I have become a pretty simple crafter.  I don’t have a lot of time to play, but I still love to craft,  so I keep my projects fast and easy so I can actually complete them! If it gets to extensive, it may end up waiting unfinished in a box in a dark corner of the basement!

My daughter and I got together over the weekend and each made a BOO. We used some of last years DCWV Halloween paper to mod podge onto the painted wood letters. We added a couple coats to the die cuts to give them some stiffness and protection. I liked her idea of making our spiders out of black pipe cleaner and a brad!

We had a finished project in just a couple of hours and our little Claire was actually a good sport and let us have our fun as long as we kept giving her a few Gold Fish crackers and had plenty of Weebles for her to play with!

Here’s my FINISHED project!

I hope that you will be able to take some time this weekend to finish a Halloween project or two! Have a great weekend!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Graphic 45 Paper Pads Are Absolutely Wicked!

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

This weekend is the first of October and I am scrambling to get my newest projects finished so I can display them with the rest of my Halloween decor! I wish I knew where September went! Graphic 45 Magic of Oz 12 x 12 paper was absolutely perfect for my WICKED letters.

This project is so fun and easy! Just paint the sides and back of each letter, trace and cut the paper, then used modge podge to adhere the paper to the wood and coat over the top. I embellished with ribbon, Magic of Oz Chipboard Die-cuts 1  and cut the witch from paper. I also used Quickutz 2 x 2 Be Spooked Collection Witch on the dot. The witch hat is  paper mache purchased from a craft store.

I hope this helps get you feeling a little spooky!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Spook-tacular projects for Halloween from Spellbinders!

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

The DT at Spellbinders really do some fantastic designs. Those gals are really talented and deserve a blog post all to themselves, so here ya go! Let your creative juices flow and get ready for the scariest holiday of the year!

If you went to CHA Chicago and stopped by the Spellbinders booth, these pumpkin pins were the make and take courtesy of Cathy Chelbana. She used the Labels Fifteen, Labels Sixteen and the Jack O Lanterns shapeabilities die.

Kazan Clark did this Halloween layout using the Nested Bats, Witches Brew, and Big Scalloped Border Grand.

This Halloween layout has really gone to the dogs – and aren’t we glad! Mona Pendleton created this dog-gone great layout using the Graveyard Scenes, Wonky Squares and the Standard Circle Nestabilities die.

Here is a cute card by Beth Pingry using the Witches Brew shapeabilities die. What I love about these shoes if you get a right and a left shoe!

Regrets Only would not be a problem with this great looking Halloween party invite! Latisha Yoast used the Labels Fourteen, Graveyard Scene, and the Floral and Stone Impressabilities to create this card.

What’s a party without decorations! And I went batty over this bat banner designed by Margie Higuchi. She used the Nested Bats, Halloween Fence Scenes, Jack O Lanterns and Witches Brew shapeabilities dies.

I hope you enjoy looking at these works of art as much as I did!

Happy Haunting!

Sneak Peak of the NEW Spellbinders dies!

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Well, here we go again! It is time for the semi-annual Spellbinders Blog Frenzy where we get a sneak peak of the latest and greatest dies! I will first show you the die, then two projects made with the featured die. For recipes and instructions on how to make these projects, please click on the designers name and it will direct you to her blog. Let’s get started!

Our first die is the S4283 Heirloom Ornament:

This Nestabilities includes five ornament dies with an antique flair to them. Look what Julie Overby created:

The first design is a personalized ornament to hang on a tree, garland or gift. The second design is a vintage card made with copper foil. Thanks Julie!

Debbie Olsen is our next designer, and she is showcasing the S4290 Labels Fourteen:

Here are Debbie’s projects:

Her first design is straight out of a chic Bed-n-Breakfast! It’s definitely tea for two with this great tea bag gift set. Her second design is a vintage card to just say hello. Great job Debbie!

Next we have the S4295 Lacey Squares with designs featured by Judy Hayes:

Here are Judy’s projects:

Look at the workmanship that went into creating this keepsake box! The card is so beautiful it speaks for itself. Judy commented this die reminds her of her Grandma’s old lace handkerchief. Grandma’s handkerchief never looked so good. Thank you Judy!

Ready for a good scare? We are with the S4279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes!

Latish Yoast channeled her inner ghoul to create these great Halloween projects using these shapeabilities:

Thanks Latish!

These dies and the rest of the blog frenzy dies are available for pre-order through our website.

Tomorrow I will give you a sneak peak at two more dies. The Spellbinders Blog Frenzy continues until July 20th, so make sure you visit our blog every day until then to see what new dies Spellbinders is releasing at summer CHA.

Happy Scrappin’
