My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Collection!

Friday, August 26th, 2011

It’s Friday! The weekend is always nice to see come around! Here in the office  officially dubbed Friday as “Frosty Friday” since Marcie has been going on Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty runs lately! Hey, we’re not complaining around here! Yumm! The other thing we’re not complaining about is the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 6 x 6″ collection. Have you seen it? It is so fun!

Okay, so all of the My Mind’s Eye paper pads are to die for, but last night I focused on the Union Square paper pad from the Lost & Found Collection. We just got a bunch of the new 6 x 6″ paper pads in, such as A Beautiful Life, A Happy Heart, All Spice, Lost & Found Blush, Lost & Found Rosy and Lost & Found Sunshine and more which are absolutely yummy eye candy for paper crafters!

Like I said, I used the Lost & Found Union Square 6 x 6″ paper pad for my card along with Spellbinders Wonderful Wings set and Classic Petal Edgeabilities. It was a lot of fun and oh, so easy!

I hope that you have great plans for your weekend! I am going to see my mother-in-law in southern Utah.  Our prayers are with our customers on the East Coast this weekend! Stay safe!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Okay, so some days I feel like I am surrounded by women having babies! There always seems to be someone having a baby, which is a wonderful thing, but I just can’t get caught up with baby gifts and cards! So, I decided over the weekend that I was going to mass produce so I could breath easy for a minute! Thank goodness for My Minds Eye Lime Twist Paper Pads! I was able to mass produce with slightly different looks!

For the It’s a Girl A2 cards I used MME Happy Go Lucky Paper Pad and Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three. This paper pad is perfect for girls young or old! 24 sheets of 6×6 doublesided cardstock paper in 12 different spring time designs in purple, red, pink, grey, turquoise and lime green. With circles, stripes, flowers and speech bubbles its youthful appearance just makes me happy!

It’s a Boy A2 cards are from MME Fly a Kite Paper Pad with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners. You get 24 sheets of 6×6 doublesided cardstock paper in 12 different spring time designs in brown, red, aqua, orange, turquoise and lime green. Circles, stripes, stars, kites and clouds most definitely portray all boy!

At least I am caught up for a few baby showers as far as cards go! Hey, the new mom’s will never know that their card has been duplicated! (Not unless they read my Blog!)

New My Minds Eye Lime Twist Paper Pads!

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

As summer fast approaches, the designers at My Mind’s Eye had the right idea when they named this line of 6″ x6″ paper pads! What better way to beat the heat than an ice cold drink with a Lime Twist?

There are 4 new paper pads with all new designs that are so delightful for spring and summer cards or mini albums! Each paper pad includes 24 sheets of 6×6 doublesided cardstock paper in 12 different spring time designs!

Fly A Kite entices us with spring time designs in brown, red, aqua, orange, turquoise and lime green. With circles, stripes, stars, kites and clouds, this unique paper collection will look great on any card or layout! Specifically designed for a little boy.

Happy Go Lucky shows off designs in purple, red, pink, grey, turquoise and lime green. With circles, stripes, flowers and speech bubbles specifically designed for girls!

Life of the Party stirs up fun with designs in pink, brown, aqua and lime green. With circles, stripes, flowers and cupcakes you’ll have everything you need for fun summer projects designed for girls!

Out of the Blue lets your imagination soar with designs in tan, grey, red, aqua and lime green. You’ll love the circles, stripes, trains, stars and hot air balloons that bring back memories of childhood play! Designed with boys in mind!

I chose two of these delightful paper pads to play with! The hardest part was choosing which patterns to design with! They are all so fun!

My butterfly card is made using the Happy Go Lucky Paper Pad, Spellibinders Labels Nineteen and Fanciful Flight dies.

My nephew is graduating from Kindergarten this month, so I decided to make a mini page with his graduation picture! I chose patterns from the Fly A Kite Paper Pad. QuicKutz Banana Split Skinnimini Alphabet for the title, Grad Cap, Diploma and Gold Seal completed the project of his shining star face!

Isn’t he cute? Only 12 more years until High School Graduation! The stars and the grade school alphabet pattern were a perfect combination for this mini page! Love it!

Well, I am taking a break for a few days! Off to South Carolina for my youngest son’s Basic Training graduation! I’ll be back on Monday! Have fun with your projects while I’m gone!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas For The Paper Crafter!

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Wow! Mother’s Day is right on our doorstep! Can you believe it? I can’t! I feel like we just barely had Easter…oh wait, we did! I don’t know about you, but I had better get crackin’ on a gift for Mom!

My mom is a scrapbooker, so she would like just about anything that has to do with scrapbooking! Why don’t you come shopping with me to see what I can find that would make great gifts for her special day!

She has tons of pictures to still put in albums as she has 10 children (I am the oldest) and 34 grandchildren, so I think I will start with the basics. Paper! She has 7 sons and lots of grandsons, so the All About Boys Paper Stack from DCWV or Alphabet Soup Boy from My Minds Eye are a great start for the boys! A Proper Gentleman 8×8 by Graphic 45 works well for all of her masculine photos.

For the feminine side, we will start with DCWV All About Girls Paper StackBlossoms and Butterflies Paper Stack, Garden Party Paper Stack, or Pocket Full of Posies Paper Stack to name just a few!

She has a Cuttlebug, and loves die cutting! Let’s move over to the dies to see what we can find! Spellbinders dies are always a perfect gift! She and I have very similar taste, so I think I will go with a couple of my favorites! Labels Twenty, Lacey Circles, Lacey Squares, Lacey Ovals (okay, so I like lacey!), Floral Doily Accents and Floral Doily Motifs as well as the Parisian Accents and Parisian Motifs! Well, that is more than a couple, but maybe we can keep some of these in mind for her birthday or Christmas! I could shop forever in Spellbinders!

She would love Quickutz Anime Monkey to scrap some of her younger grandchildren! Or the Mixing Bowl and Spoon for those moments making cookies with the grandkids!

Heartfelt Creations, Just Rite Stampers and Sparkle N Sprinkle all have stamps that are fabulous to give her or buy for myself to make her card with! They all have stamps that coordinate with Spellbinders dies! Want2Scrap has Nestabling to go with!

Whew! This shopping trip could last a long time if we got into the nitty-gritty of adhesives, embossing folders, foils, flowers, etc.! I think I will let you shop for yourselves now! I have a pretty good idea of what I will end up with! Have fun!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

If card making is more your thing, you will find the new Stella and Rose Collection of 6 x 6 paper pads inspiring! Their are four different pads to the collection. They are; Hattie, Hazel, Gertie and Mabel! Each pad contains 24 sheets of double sided 6 x 6 paper! I honestly can’t pick a favorite! I love them all!

There’s more to look at, but I will let you look for yourself! That’s the fun of shopping!

Introducing My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose Collection!

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

I think that this will be an official Paper Blog Week for me! We just got in our shipment of the brand new My Mind’s Eye 6×6 paper pads! The Stella Rose Collection has four beautiful 6×6 double sided paper pads which are Gertie, Hattie, Hazel and Mabel. Though the names may be a bit old fashioned, the paper is fresh and vibrant! Again, I had a hard time choosing which one to focus on for my projects!

I decided to make these cards using the Gertie paper pad. On the first I also used a piece of  Hardware from Stampin’ Up and the stamp set You Inspire Me from Just Rite Stampers.

On the second, I used Spellbinder’s CHA Releases Labels Twenty (dies #1 & 5) and Creative Page Tabs (both due to arrive in March!). Of coarse, I used 1/8″ Scor-Tape to apply the ric-rac and button.

I can’t wait to use the other paper pads in this collection! They are all darling!

FYI-If you are waiting for pending orders, we appreciate your patience! We are finally receiving shipments trickling in from all of our manufacturers, as they have all been behind since CHA! We are filling orders as fast as we can!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’

Exclusive MME Lost & Found, Alphabet Soup and Seasonal Paper Kits arriving soon!

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

When I visited My Mind’s Eye (MME) at CHA, I fell instantly in love with their new paper collection Lost & Found. If you like a little bling on your paper like I do, then you will LOVE this collection! The images do not do the colors of these papers justice. And the best part about this is I contracted with my rep (the very adorable and competent KC Burningham!) to have our own exclusive 12 x 12 paper kits in each line! You receive two each of ten different papers, and 7 or 8 of the papers have glitter! So here they are:

This is the Portobello. It has a western cowboy theme in colors of aqua, grey and tan.

This is Madison Avenue which is stylish and chic in pinks and browns.

This is Market Street with a bird cage theme in aqua and pink.

And my favorite, because I love red and black, is Union Square. This has a vintage travel look.

These kits are available for pre-order right now and are due to arrive sometime this month. As they are packaged exclusively for Cut@Home, you can only get them here. We have a limited supply, since they are a special order, so if you are crazy about this line and want to get each of the papers, this is a really good bargain! I also have a few projects so you can see the vision of the beauty of this paper from the MME designers.

The Alphabet Soup collection gives you a choice of paper and accessories kits for a boy or a girl!

For Halloween, you have two paper & accessories kits to choose from: Blackbird and Haunted.

For Christmas, we have Holly Jolly and I Believe:

What I love is you have  choice between whimsy and traditional with both seasons!

My Mind’s Eye kits are now available! Back ordered QK dies

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Along with the Penny Lane kits we personally packaged, we just added the Breaking Free line! You can now buy the Breaking Free paper kits and coordinating accessories. This was a big project and we are so thrilled to have this finally completed, so please make us feel good and buy your MME paper from us!

We also got another shipment of Copic Markers. You know how hard they are to find, and we have plenty of all the Copic, Sketch and Ciao sets as well as the Baby sets. The only set Copic back ordered was the Glitter “B” set. This is good news, so don’t hesitate and get your Copic’s before this shipment is depleted!

One of our goals for this year is improved customer communication. That is why I hired Carrie to take over the phone and emails for me. Keeping up with our website, vendors and all our products was very hard for me to do and keep current on the emails and phone calls. Carrie has been working hard on emailing all of you who are waiting for the rev sale dies to arrive and keep you posted on the latest news from QuicKutz as to when they will be arriving. We are very sorry some of the dies are back ordered and out of stock. We have had some questions on why we ran a sale if we didn’t have the dies, so let me explain again how an online store works for those of you who don’t know or forgot, and why some of the dies are back ordered.

The benefit of an online store is we can offer lots and lots of choices on products, giving you a large variety, without having the inventory onsite. We do our best to carry several of each item as we don’t have the warehouse space to carry a lot of inventory on one item. The great part of being based in Utah is most of our vendors are within a 30 mile radius, (except for Spellbinders who is in Phoenix and Boss Kut who is in Missouri) so this means they can ship fast. Usually they can ship to us within 1-3 days of ordering so you don’t have to wait more than 5-10 days for your order. Still a pretty good turn around time for having such a great variety to shop from! We make projections on what we think we can sell based on what our customers like, and place our order accordingly. Projections are the hardest part of sales! Sometimes we order too much of one item and not enough of another. I am bald from pulling out my hair on this. It is a very difficult balance as excess inventory can put a small store like us out of business, especially with this economy!

So that is how an online store works. Now let me explain how an online store sale works!

As with 99% of our sales, our vendor tells us what we can put on sale and what we can price it at. Just like the QuicKutz sale we just had. My rep calls me up and tells me he has lots of inventory on such ‘n such and why don’t I do a sale. I jump all over it! But, we are not the only store running the sale. Don’t forget, we are not their only vendor! And just like us, Quickutz has their projections on what items they think they will sell and how much.  REV dies are very popular with my customers, so I loaded up with my initial order. I placed orders almost every day trying to keep up with the demand of the dies I sold out of while the sale was going on. Unfortunately, even though I was constantly placing orders, QuicKutz was low on their projections and they did not have enough of the dies I needed and sold out of about 20 of the dies. Which means they could not fill my order so I could not fill your order. The domino effect! That is why I put on the product descriptions “While supplies last” because we don’t know what the supply is like and how long it will last.  Inventory changes hourly. It is VERY difficult to predict and for those of you in sales, you know what I mean!

Anyway, I hope that explanation helps. We are very sorry some of the dies are sold out and some are back ordered and we appreciate the kindness you have shown us by being so understanding. I really have the best customers ever!

I am beat and ready to be off for the weekend! See ya Monday and don’t forget to check out our paper!

Thanks,

Marcie
