New QuicKutz Whirlpool Alphabet!

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Today I want to show you the adorable new QuicKutz Whirlpool Alphabet! I have a weakness for swirls! The more swirly the better as far as I am concerned! This alphabet is so dang cute! You get 65 dies in upper and lower case letters, numbers and punctuation! The letters are approximately 1″ tall and come in strands held together with the tiny tabs that I mentioned yesterday with the Blue Sky Alphabet. This is the same with the new Carousel and Handmade Alphabets. I used my Cuttlebug with my extended 6 x 13″ Cutting Mats to cut a bunch out at once!

There are so many ways you can use this on both cards and layouts! Spring, Summer, Water play, Easter, oh goodness, you name it! I can’t wait to get some spring pictures of my granddaughter with flowers to use it with! I happen to think that flowers and swirls naturally go together.  I also think that swirls go with water, and considering the name of this alphabet, I thought it appropriate to use it on my layout of our dive trip to Sand Hollow with my brother-in-law.

My supplies consisted of the following:

Bazzill Cardstock, pattern paper, Fiskers Wave Border Punch, 3L Scrapbook Adhesives EZ-Runner (can’t live without it!), Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles, Anchor and Fin Eyelets, DCWV Shimmer Mat Stack and QuicKutz Whirlpool Alphabet.

I’m sure that you can think of a million ideas that you can use this alphabet on! Fun stuff!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Just Arrived, New Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamps!

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

I may be repeating myself, but have I told you how much fun it is to introduce a new product? It is like Christmas for me when we get new product lines in! I love it! It is so much fun to open up a plain brown box and find shiny new packaging wrapped around new product! It was just like that when we opened up our shipment of the brand new Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamps! I felt like a kid opening a new baby doll Christmas morning!

These stamps are foam backed and require an acrylic block to use. They coordinate with many of the  Spellbinders dies! We have listed the coordinating dies on our website in the details of each stamp set. I actually used a few different dies than were listed on our website, so you can experiment with other dies as well!

The first three projects show here are from Sparkle N Sprinkle designers Barbara Bruder and Donna Maligno. A huge Thank you to them for sending these to us!

I did a bit of playing myself and came up with the following cards using the Thanks A Bunch Stamp Set, which I love the multiple font thank yous! I used the following items for these projects:

DCWV Linen Closet Mat Stack, Natural Mat Stack, Natural Solid Cardstock Stack, Bazzill Cardstock, copper hardware, Versa Marker, Spellbinders Creative Book Pages, Grand LabelsEleven, Labels Eighteen and Beaded Squares.

I had a lot of fun with these sentiment cards! You will too! These are great stamps to work with!

New Spellbinder’s CHA Releases Have Arrived!

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Yippee! The moment we’ve all been waiting for! Spellbinder’s CHA releases have arrived and we are racing to get all of the Pre-Orders shipped! As soon as we have pre-orders filled we will remove them from pre-order status so the coupon can be used! Hallelujah! We are so excited! They are all so beautiful! If you have ordered on a Pre-Order, be watching your email for shipping notification and then your mail box! They are on their way!

I did this layout using the fun new Sprightly Sprockets! My nephew loves to build, and he helped his dad build this tower for his dad’s school class. Pretty cool!

I used DCWV All About Boys 12×12 Paper Stack, some Spellbinders Premium Craft Foil for my photo robot’s eyes and antennas and Boss Kut Hobby Horse Alphabet for my title! My track is just red twine wrapped twice around the sprockets using 1/8″ Scor-Tape to secure it.

These new dies are going fast! We have already been informed by Spellbinders that once the first shipment is sold out, the next shipment won’t be coming until mid April! The sooner you order, the better!

Remember, we fill orders in the order in which they arrive!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Spellbinder’s Die Carry Case

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

I receive the frequent question of “What is the best way to store my Spellbinder Dies?”. If you are like me, you like to look at different options to see what will work best for you. The Spellbinder Die Carry Case is a perfect option because it is made specifically for holding Spellbinder dies!

The case is made in a beautiful pink suede. It holds 16 S4 dies, 8 S3 dies, 20 miniabilities and approx 6 S5 dies. It does not hold the S7 dies. The pocket sizes are as follows: 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″; 2 7/8″ x 4 1/4″; 2 7/8″ x 1 10/16″ and two clear plastic side zipper pockets that will hold the S5 dies. It has a zipper closer that keeps everything safely tucked inside and a nice handle to transport your dies with you to a crop!

Magnetic Storage Book vs. Magnetic Storage Folder

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Now, I have to tell you that I could use a bit of improvement on getting certain things organized (like my home office), but I love anything that has to do with getting there! Totes, baskets, bins, anything cute for storage! I love storage containers! QuicKutz has one of my favorite storage ideas for storing QuicKutz Cookie Cutter Dies or Spellbinder Dies!

The Magnetic Storage Book is fabulous! I love storing my Spellbinder Dies and Cookie Cutter Dies in these because they stay in order! It is approximately 8″ x 10″ and has a nice magnetic flap that overlaps the front to keep it closed! It is only 1/2″ thick on the flap side, so it saves space! It varies how many sets it will hold depending on the size and shape of the dies you are storing. Organize and store metal dies, or other flat metal embellishments! Love it! I own a bunch!

The Magnetic Storage Folder is smaller, but still great for storing Cookie Cutter Dies, Especially Mini and Skinny Mini Alphabet Sets, Basic Shapes, Nesting Shapes, and Country Collections. It is made to fit perfectly in any QuicKutz Storage Binder (which is available in Blue, Black and Pink), but also works great as a stand alone folder! I also own a couple of these for my smaller cookie cutter alphabets! They’re great!

If you ask me, these items are another must have for my craft room! I may have to buy a special bookshelf just for them!

Have a great President’s Day weekend! I will be back on Tuesday!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Luck O’ The Irish!

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Scratch Valentine’s off the calendar! Get out the green! We’re looking onward to March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day! Believe it or not, its right around the corner!  Even if you are not officially Irish, it is great fun to join in on the celebration!

There are so many fun things you can do to “Go Green” Irish style! Banners, hats, pins, cupcake wrappers, and the list goes on!

I whipped up a couple of cards last night to show you today. Here goes! For the “Pot o’ Gold” card I used a Quickutz 2×2 Cauldron. The gold is from Spellbinder’s Precious Metals Premium Craft Foil which I roughed up a bit on the back with a stylus to give it texture. I placed the cauldron on a frame using dies #1 and #2 S4-311 Labels Nineteen. I gave texture to the card with the Houndstooth Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The font is from Dragonfly Mini Unicase Alphabet Set with one of the RS-0655 Clovers under one of the O’s!

We all want to be wished a little luck now and then, so with my next card, I wanted a Lucky Horseshoe and a 4 leaf Clover by Quickutz! After all, I need all the luck I can get! I placed them in a frame cut from die #2 of the new release S4-306 Wonky Rectangles. I just embossed the bottom edge of the card using one of the embossing strips from Frills Cuttlebug Ebossing Folders then put a simple strip of patterned paper above to cover the line that the folder left. For the finishing touch, I added the title using Quickutz 4×8 License Plate Mini Alphabet! Done!

I really enjoyed making St. Patrick’s Day cards! I have never really gone all out to decorate for this holiday before, but I am thinking it would be so much fun to make a St. Patty’s Day banner and table centerpiece! Who knows… I may just go crazy with green this month! Feel free to join in! Check out our products under our St. Patrick’s Day theme!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

We’re Introducing JustRite Stampers!

Friday, February 11th, 2011

For all of you who are stampers, or who would like to be stampers, we would like to bring to your attention JustRite Stampers! I think you will be very  impressed with their products!I know that I am!

Now, I will admit that I have dabbled with stamps here and there, but never really knew what to do with them, so they have been a tiny bit intimidating! Since bringing on a couple of stamp companies, I am finding that I really want to do more with stamps! There are so many beautiful stamps out there!

For starters, JustRite are grooved on the back of the stamps which fit perfectly into the grooved surface of their coordinating stampers! This is great since you can mix and match borders, centers and fonts and they will match up perfectly to make your stamp unique to its purpose!

They offer wood stampers in different sizes, as well as clear stampers, which help you to see exactly where you want to place your image or sentiment. They also coordinate with some Spellbinder dies, Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Punches and even a few EK Success and Stampin’ Up punches!

They also offer a line of Cling Stamps and acrylic blocks that you can mix and match also!Mix and match with a variety of themes, verses, sentiments and alphabets!

I did a little playing last night with the JustRite Stamps to show you some examples.

For my chocolate kiss vase I used JB-09500 1 5/8″ Clear Stamper with the JB-09720 Romantic Sentiments Centers for the flower centers. For the main center I used my I-Top Tool and a large Brad-Daddy. The flowers are Petaloo- Love You  Flora Doodles. I placed the main flower on a back made from S5-027 Labels Twenty One, which I cut out on my Cuttlebug.

My card was as easy as can be! I stamped two images using the Cling Stamps CL-02075 You Inspire Me in two different shades of blue, punched the bottom with a scalloped punch, cut by hand the top image then used adhesive foam to stack them. The center was stamped and punched with  a circle punch. I used Martha Stewart border punches for the edges.

Of course I have to do a scrapbook page, so I started with paper from DCWV Nana’s Nursery 12 x 12 paper stack. The stamps are from JB-09265 The Greatest Joy Set. I used #4 die from Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, then #4 die of Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and #4 Beaded Ovals die. The butterfly is from the new Fanciful Flight Set ( I love this set!) and Petaloo Love You Flora Doodles.

You’ve really got to give these stamps a try! They are great to use! Easy clean-up too! I’m sure that you will come up with some great projects!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Bling From Want2Scrap!

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Last week I showed you all the Nestabling from Want2Scrap. Today I want to show you examples of their fabulous line of Rhinestone Gems and Pearls! Individually self adhesive,  you don’t need to break them off of a strip just to use one or two for a project! There are a variety of colors to choose from, with 72 Rhinestones or Pearls per sheet! The Baby Bling contains 100 pieces per package!

For my greeting card, I used pattern paper from the DCWV Luxury Mat Stack for my card front, the rose, leaves and tag.  The rose and leaves are made with S5-050 Rose Creations. The tag is #1 of S4-317 Fleur De Lis Rectangles.  I molded and  inked the edges of my rose petals with ink, then put them all together with a brad before putting one of the large 2226 Pink Pearls on top of the brad. I used all sizes on two corners with the smallest pearls placed along the swirls of the paper. It is easier to place the small pearls with a pair of craft tweezers, but it is not necessary.

For my A2 card I used S5-025 Labels Seventeen die #6 for the white background. The #4 die from S4-316 Heart Circles, then cut my picture out with #6 die from S4-114 Standard Circles Large to place in the center. I inked around the card and hearts, then used 6244 Red Baby Bling to spruce it up! Baby Bling also comes in a variety of colors!

I recommend using craft tweezers for sure with the Baby Bling! They are so cute, but very tiny!

If you enjoy bling, then Want2Scrap has something for you! We also have Bling Strips, Brackets and Swirls! We are still adding this product line to our website, so keep watching over the next week or so!

Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!

Final Day for Spellbinders Blog Frenzy!

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Here we are at the final day of the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy! We feel this is one of the strongest  CHA releases since Nestabilities first stormed on the scene a few years ago. Based on the comments from our customers, you all agree! So let’s take our last peek into the Day 8 release with the S4-317 Fleur de Lis Rectangles, S4-322 Grommet Tags, LF-246 Grand Labels Eleven and S4-323 Ribbon Tags Trio Two shown below:

The Fleur de Lis Rectangles are Decorative Elements Nestabilities. Both tags are shapeabilities and the Grand die is a Nestabilities. Here are some projects to get you thinking about what you can do with these dies!

Spellbinders DT member Heidi Blankenship used both the Fleur de Lis Rectangles and Grommet Tags for both these projects. I love the intricacy of the Fleur de Lis Rectangles. Grommet Tags have long been a favorite of mine as I love to add ribbon and a bit of bling to my tags and these tags are perfect for doing just that. To see how she made these projects, please visit Heidi’s blog. Thanks Heidi!

Next we have two projects by Spellbinders DT member Julie Overby.

Julie used the Grand Labels Eleven and Ribbon Tags Trio Two on both these projects. The first project is a calendar. To see the rest of the pages, and for more information on her designs, click on Julie’s name and it will take you to her blog. They are worth seeing. Very cute! The second project is an elegant card. Great job Julie!

Well that’s it for the sneak preview of the Spellbinders winter CHA release. The rest of the release will be viewable on Saturday, January 29th. To see all the dies we have previewed, and for more information about each die, please go to our pre-order page.

Thank you and Happy Scrappin!

We have three new dies to preview for Day 2 of the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy!

This is S5-032 Elegant Posts. It is a Shapeabilities die. You receive five different posts giving you lots of options to hang your favorite label from!

This shape should look familiar to all you Labels Four fans! This is the S4-309  Labels Four Small Nestabilities die! So now we have all three sizes of Labels Four dies! This one is sure to be a HUGE hit so I would definitely add this to your pre-order list to make sure you are one of the first to have one. Here is what Spellbinders DT member Kazan Clark did with these two dies:

Next we have the latest addition to the Nestabilities Decorative Elements:

Introducing the S4-319  Lattice Rectangles! Layer this with the Classic Rectangles for a truly inspiring project! Look what Judy Hayes did with this new die:

With Valentines Day coming upon us, these projects are just what we need to get us in the right frame of mind.

Spellbinders Blog Frenzy starts today!

Monday, January 10th, 2011

So here we go with another Spellbinders Blog Frenzy! We are counting down the days to the NEW Spellbinders release that will be introduced at winter CHA in Los Angeles. Spellbinders will be releasing 45 brand new dies, which will include 16 new Nestabilities! They have two brand new formats that will bring fun, new techniques to paper crafting. This new release will begin shipping in February or March.

Let’s get started with the Day One release:

This is a brand new addition to the fabulous Nestabilities labels line: Labels Eighteen. It reminds me of a vintage tag with its elegant shape and flared corners.

This next one is the Ribbon Banners. They remind me of the sentiments line Spellbinders used to carry, that I loved! The great part about these are they are blank and are large enough to add your own sentiment! Here is what Debbie Olsen did with these dies:

Thanks Debbie!

Next we have a Grand die:

This is the Creative Book Pages which can be used to create a mini album, Or get REALLY creative and use them as borders! Donna Salazar made this great mini album!

She also used the Rose Creations shapeabilities die cut on this project shown below:

And because Spellbinders knows we scrappers and cardmakers can never have too many flowers, they came up with Carnation Creations, also a shapeabilities die:

Here is a spin on custom tabs that I never saw coming:

Think outside the office with the Creative Page Tabs. You get NINE custom tabs to mark your pages. Or clip off the tab and use as a die shape!

How many ways can we say WOW!! For the recipes used, please click on the designers name and visit their blog.

These dies are available on our pre-order page where you can also see their dimensions. As always, the VIP coupon is not valid on any pre-order items, and any pre-order items need to be on a separate order from the dies that are currently shipping.

Thanks for taking a peek and I will see you tomorrow for two more new dies as the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy continues!

Happy Scrappin’!

Visit to Spellbinders

Monday, October 18th, 2010

The owners of Cut@Home took a little road trip last week! We left the cool, fall temperatures of Utah and traveled to the Arizona desert heat to visit our good friends at Spellbinders.  We had meetings most of Thursday and Friday with Jeff and Stacey, Jerry and Terre. It was great to meet all the team members who work behind the scenes that we have never met like Amanda, Lisa, Joe and Barry. We also took a tour of States Logistics, the fulfillment center who ships all the product, and met Mark and Serena.  I saw my Grand Calibur shipment going out, so it will be here today! Stacey gave us sneak peek of the the new designs they are working on for their winter release. I am sworn to secrecy, so all I can say is WOOHOOOOO!!!! Look out, you are going to LOVE them! Lots of Nestabilities coming your way! I worked out some special deals, so look for a special sale on the Wizard coming up this week and a free die give-away in November. We toured their new facility, which they will be occupying in November. The Caron’s were gracious hosts, driving us all over and setting us up in their casita for the evenings. We had a great time. Many thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome! We can’t wait to go back!

Happy Scrappin!

Spook-tacular projects for Halloween from Spellbinders!

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

The DT at Spellbinders really do some fantastic designs. Those gals are really talented and deserve a blog post all to themselves, so here ya go! Let your creative juices flow and get ready for the scariest holiday of the year!

If you went to CHA Chicago and stopped by the Spellbinders booth, these pumpkin pins were the make and take courtesy of Cathy Chelbana. She used the Labels Fifteen, Labels Sixteen and the Jack O Lanterns shapeabilities die.

Kazan Clark did this Halloween layout using the Nested Bats, Witches Brew, and Big Scalloped Border Grand.

This Halloween layout has really gone to the dogs – and aren’t we glad! Mona Pendleton created this dog-gone great layout using the Graveyard Scenes, Wonky Squares and the Standard Circle Nestabilities die.

Here is a cute card by Beth Pingry using the Witches Brew shapeabilities die. What I love about these shoes if you get a right and a left shoe!

Regrets Only would not be a problem with this great looking Halloween party invite! Latisha Yoast used the Labels Fourteen, Graveyard Scene, and the Floral and Stone Impressabilities to create this card.

What’s a party without decorations! And I went batty over this bat banner designed by Margie Higuchi. She used the Nested Bats, Halloween Fence Scenes, Jack O Lanterns and Witches Brew shapeabilities dies.

I hope you enjoy looking at these works of art as much as I did!

Happy Haunting!

Introducing Heartfelt Creations!

Monday, August 30th, 2010

We are so excited to be introducing to you Heartfelt Creations! We have been thinking of bringing on stamps for a few years now, and frankly it has been quite overwhelming with all the darling stamps on the market! How do I take on a project this size? So, when Stacey from Spellbinders told me how they have teamed with a few select stamp companies, I knew I had found the right niche! Stacey took me over and introduced me to Richard and Emma Lou of Heartfelt Creations and I fell in love with their designs. I knew we had to carry their line of coordinating pre-cut rubber stamps along with their exclusive Spellbinders dies! Teaming the Spellbinders dies with the matching stamps gives you a 3-D explosion of possibilities, and adds depth to any project! This combination takes die-cutting to an entirely new level. You will love it. Watch a VIDEO here of Emma Lou demonstrating how to use the stamps and die cuts together to create beautiful projects: Heartfelt Creations & Spellbinders VIDEO

Happy Scrappin and Stampin!
