Sleep Tight Page Layout

Friday, October 18th, 2013

Night night, Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite–Heather and I have been wanting to use these sleeping photos for a long time because they are so cute and Heather found the perfect page layout for them. Isn’t it funny how no matter how naughty your kids are through out the day when you look at them sleeping at the end of the day they can just melt your heart away again. We have to laugh at this one of Trista who fell asleep on the bathroom sink, now that is called TIRED!

This layout all started with Graphic 45 cling stamp set Mother Goose and Heather wanting to play around with American Crafts Marker set. After we put the pictures on, it was clear that we needed something else so Heather got out the rounded squares from Spellbinders and cut out a few to arrange on the page. A few finishing touches and here it is.

Wall Hanging Decoration

Friday, August 30th, 2013

We have a blank wall in need of filling so this week Heather and I created this wall hanging decoration. We really started with this songbird and cage die cut from Quickutz that we cut out onto foil. We have used this foil from Spellbinders before but let me tell you it is a lot of fun and no more difficult to use than regular paper. Combined with the paper and floral stamps this decoration will fill any empty wall space with elegance.

Decorate It Wish Big

Monday, August 19th, 2013

It is time for another Hero Arts Decorate It! Wish Big is adorable and incredibly useful. I always forget to purchase or make a birthday card on time, so this has been so nice to have lying around. In fact, I went to the store on a specific errand to get Grandma a birthday card for her grand-daughter and guess what I forgot? Yes, the card. My one reason to go to the store. When I got home, grandma looked terribly disappointed, but we pulled out this beauty and we were saved in no time.

I can’t say enough good things about the Decorate It kits. They are simple, easy, fun, and always handy to have around. They come with everything you need for the card and the rest is left to you. I even bought a kit for my mother-in-law (who doesn’t scrapbook in the least) and she LOVES it! She was so excited to make cards for all of her fellow teachers/faculty. I’m so glad I’m not the only one! You’ll love them too!

Boys Dinosuar Page Layout

Friday, August 16th, 2013

Heather and I ordered this paper stack from DCWV because we have noticed that we have’t really done many boy things with the blog, so here is a boys dinosaur page layout that we did for our son’s scrapbook. A few years back we were able to go to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point and we got some really cut pictures that were perfect for this page but don’t think that you have to have “dino” pictures because boys and dinosaurs just go together, just ask my son Turner because he was in heaven at the Dinosaur Museum.

This page was a lot of fun to put together. All we did was choose our paper from the Boyhood Stack and then find paper to match for the flags and cutouts. The flag stamps are from Hero Arts and can be used on so many different designs when you just need to fill a spot. You will probably see them used on some more projects of ours in the future. Heather also found that the new Spellbinders Tile Works die worked well  for the date and photo matsIt is a really great die for boys!

Carriage Activity Book

Monday, August 12th, 2013

It’s time to feed that inner princess that you or a girly family member possesses! The Want2Scrap Chipboard Carriage Album is the perfect way to make your own Carriage Activity Book that a little princess is sure to love! Get some snazzy glitter, some beautiful paper and you’re well on your way!

A lot of the chipboard albums I’ve made become mini scrapbooks, which is wonderful! I thought I was going to make this for my daughters third birthday and fill it with pictures from her party, but we ended up moving to a place where we had no friends to invite to a party, so I started thinking of other ideas for this little beauty. My daughter is OBSESSED with three things in her life right now. Princesses, the alphabet, and counting….so that’s what this book is all about. A little bit of something that my little princess loves!

For the cover, I used LOTS of glitter, glitter, glitter. I used liquid glue to adhere it and went crazy with making it sparkly enough to carry a princess. I will tell you one secret. I have tried making these albums in the past by cutting out the paper with scissors. Save your time, effort, and that inner anger management problem and invest in THIS incredibly inexpensive and wonderful craft knife! It will work wonders for your crafting and your happiness. These albums are so easy if you have a craft knife. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough!

Next come the pages. I will tell you beforehand that these pages are more on the un-embellished side for a reason. I want Claire (my daughter) to embellish these herself. It’s a princess activity book and I’m sure she will fill every empty space with a beautiful sticker and enjoy every second of it. The first page, I created a pocket out of the Spellbinders 5X7 Branching Out die and placed the stickers in the pocket. I then cut out some blank ovals for her to place her stickers on.

Happy 4th of July with Authentique

Friday, July 5th, 2013

Hope you all had a great 4th of July yesterday and now is the time to get all of those pictures developed and scrapbooked with Authentiques Pride Collection. This paper stack is pretty amazing because it comes with so much, not only does it have really cute paper designs but it comes with sheets of stickers that make designing not only easy but really fun. I decided to scrapbook some pictures from a few years ago because when I was doing this page we hadn’t had the 4th yet. It was fun to look back to this year because Heather was pregnant, in fact the very next day we welcomed our little girl Ellana into this world (she even thinks that everyone sets off fireworks just for her birthday). I started this page off just laying out the paper that I wanted to use and how I wanted to arrange the photos. Once I had that, the rest was easy because most of it was just peeling off the stickers and deciding where to put them. I also used the flag and stars from Sizzix which used that larger space that I had left.

Well if you have a lot of pictures from all of your celebrations than try this paper stack and you will not be disappointed.
