This sweet Magnolia card features Magnolia Stamps Tilda with Little Pocket stamp. This Tilda fits me, my daughter, and grand daughter. Long blond hair, half girly-girl and half tom-boy (I was more tom-boy). I still prefer jeans and t-shirt over a dress any day of the week and if you give me flowers, please make sure the roots are attached, so I can dig in the dirt and plant them in my yard, but my girls are a little more girly girl than me.

I made this card for my sweet little grand daughter who is moving to Dallas, Texas with her family this week. Even though she is only 2 1/2, I want to send her off with a note from Grandma. You know how it is….

Ya’ll are familiar with her mommy. Stacy is Cut@Home Blogger and my only daughter, so I am thrilled that we will still be able to hear from her every week and see her projects, but I will miss them all so much!

This was my first time using the A.C. Chromatix Markers set and I had so much fun! They worked great (for my first time). I’m sure I will improve my coloring skill after some practice, but they are smooth and I was ticked with the shading. If you are interested in trying these out, you can find them HERE.

I think Magnolia stamps are perfect for little girls, or even the little girl inside the big girls! There is just something sweet and innocent about them that is very appealing. I know my little grand daughter will like this card because it is PINK!

I will be sending my daughters family off this week, so wish me luck! I wish I could call someone to shut off the water in my eyes, but I don’t think it is possible. I will just have to really dig into projects to keep my mind off of it for a while!

Also in this beautiful collection comes the Vintage floret stamp, which I couldn’t pass up in making a card. This is just incredibly gorgeous and so fun to make. It looks like you’ve spent a ton of time, but really haven’t because the product does all the work for you. I like to color in the details on stamps like these to give it more color and dimension. I used a fine tip marker to make the flowers pop and draw more attention to the center. Also a great Father’s Day card idea!

It’s Graduation week!!!! Hooray! I’ve been looking forward to this week for 6 long years for my husband to finish his Ph.D. and it’s finally here, so naturally I had to use the Spellbinders Ornate Squares for his Graduation Card!  Now, I know you’ll look at this card and think, “What? That doesn’t look like a graduation card.” Let me explain. When writing your dissertation, I’m convinced that you loose a little of your sanity and start looking for anything to entertain yourself. My hubster picked up magic tricks as his new hobby, so I was so excited that this new Bo Bunny Anthem paper had face cards on it! So, he may be getting a doctorate degree in organic chemistry, but it has been the magician inside that has kept him sane the past few months. This is exactly what I love about homemade cards! You can do any theme you want, use any paper you want (even if it’s technically for the 4th of July), and make it personal.

 

The Spellbinders Ornate Squares are seriously TO DIE FOR! They are gorgeous! I also used the matching stamps by JustRite (the Ornate Happiness Squares) which are equally beautiful. I’m not sure if you can see it in the picture, but I stamped around the star paper with the graduation cap on it with the Ornate Happiness Squares. It adds just the right detail. The graduation/congratulations stamp was something I thought I’d never use and was elated to rediscover last night! Just what I needed. It’s part of the JustRite Summer Words stamps. So glad I had them! I will be using more and more of them in the near future.

I am practically giddy today for the Heartfelt Creations Balmy Breeze Collection release because this collection is right up my ally! Even though I live in a desert state, I love the ocean! I love scuba diving, and walking along sandy beaches, sunsets over the water and the sound of breaking waves. Ahhh…. so relaxing.

In this collection old world vintage has been combined with tranquil seaside scenes (including a rustic compass, beach chair, fantastic surf, beaming lighthouses) and the Balmy Breeze paper pack, composed of a neutral color palette of peach and mint hues. This set is perfect for the crafter that loves creating vintage projects or for the stamper looking to create a project for her favorite man.

What a fun and exciting way to start Spring off – when Sizzix meets Suga Pop! Kaisercraft paper and the Sizzix Framelits Die Set are seriously the way to go and you’ll love every project you make with them. Just peruse through the sample pictures, I dare you! You may not be able to resist yourself (sometimes like me) and you’ll have to have it all! I had a really tough time deciding which paper I was going to get just because all of the Kaisercraft paper is to die for.

I wanted to make a bajillion cards to show you just how adorable these projects were, but alas, it was way too late (again) and I was able to get one finished before my eyes started to close. I promise to have more finished beauties from these two products in the near future. They’re just so irresistible.

I have several family members and friends that will be celebrating their Birthdays in the next month and so I thought for my next project a should make a birthday card with Sizzix.  This was such a fast and easy card to make.  I started off cutting my cardstock down to a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 size sheet and then I used Bo Bunny 6×6 collection paper to border the front of my card.  I love to ink alot of my projcets and with this project I used Hero Hues Chalk Ink around all the edges.  Then I used Sizzix Banners #2 framelits and stamps and I used all of the banner framelits (and the Happy Birthday stamp) on my card.  I put it all together using Scor Tape and pop up stickers. I  Love how easy and how fun it was to make this Birthday card!  Now its time to Celebrate with a Sizzix Birthday Card!

I usually like to create two page layouts to keep my scrapbooks uniform, but this time I decided to put my photos on one Horsin’ Around 12×12 scrapbook page instead of spread them over two pages, since I only had 3 photos of this occasion. As you can see, my grand kids love riding the rocking horse. They love that it actually whinnies and makes a clip-clop sound while they ride. They even know which ear to press when it stops.  I hope they don’t think they can do that with a real horse, ’cause I don’t think a real one would like his ear pinched!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Okay, so I actually used my scissors to fussy cut out some of my details out of my DCWV Bouquet De Fleur pattern paper! Can you believe it? I actually saw something similar done on one of the blogs I follow and I really liked it, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Now the horses were a different story. I totally cut them out by making a template first, then putting the template and die over the stamped image and ran them through my Big Shot! SOOOOO much easier than scissors!

Who needs adorable cards in under 5 minutes? I DO! These Decorate it Owl card kits are super adorable and I made 4 cards in about 10 minutes. Let’s talk about them….

I kid you not, I have already used two of them. In fact, I almost had to take pictures of them individually because I kept needing to give a card at the last minute. These are so nice to have! Heartfelt Creations has hit the nail on the head for me with their latest collection, as I mentioned the other day, but I wanted to show you how I incorporated the Sunny Day Collection in my Sunshine of My life Scrapbook Page!

I love how the theme fits perfectly with my photo of my little granddaughter playing outside with her Grandpa (my hubby) on a bright, sunny day! This was taken while he was putting together the swing set we bought for the grand kids. She was so excited to play with Papa. Neither were aware that I had the camera focused on them, so it was completely natural, and I absolutely love capturing those candid moments!

I think most of my layout is pretty obvious with where I used certain items, however, I cut out the stamped butterfly, colored it with chalk, then layered another butterfly cut from velum over the top to mute the color. I inked around the picture mat and frame for the sentiment using both inks mentioned, layering one color over the other until I was satisfied with the results.

I seriously can’t wait until spring and we can enjoy warm sunny days again! In the meantime, I am putting the Sunny Day Collection to good use!

Today is the official release of Heartfelt Creations Sunny Day Collection and I am thrilled to introduce this collection to you! I have lived in what you might say, are the rural areas on the outskirts of the city most of my life, complete with pot holed dirt road and farm animals.
