Cool Sizzix Center Step Card!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014

I received this totally cool Sizzix Center Step Card die and couldn’t wait to try it out. Technically, the name of the die is Card, Center Step so if you want to look it up by name, that is the appropriate one to use.( I will have the number for it in the product list below.)

This die is VERY COOL! Everything you need to assemble the card is on one Bigz XL die except the embellishments to dress it up. You will need extended cutting mats. It is super easy to put together and took no time at all to complete this card once I decided what I wanted to embellish it with.

I chose the Bo Bunny Enchanted Garden Collection to use on the card base which was just out of cream card stock. I love the color pallet of the Enchanted Garden and the embellishments!  The banner was cut with Sizzix Triplits 8pk Banners die set and the sentiment from Penny Black Special Wishes stamp set, which I must not have inked good enough in one spot, but oh well. I forgot to stamp the sentiment before adhering the label, so it was a done deal.

Really, all you do is cut the pieces and adhere in place! The score lines are already done for you when you cut the card base, so all you have to do is follow the score lines to fold. So easy and so cute! It folds up very nicely to fit into an A2 Envelope.

Card Making: Heartfelt Creations Majestic Collage Card

Friday, July 18th, 2014

Hello! Today I am making a thank you card using a very gender neutral color and an AMAZING stamp I been wanting to play with. Heartfelt Creations Majestic Collage. This stamp is from the Heartfelt Creations Majestic Morning collection released earlier this year. To play along with this stamp we have Tim Holtz’ Distress Ink in Linen and a few color coordination enamel dots.

Let’s get started!

1. First start by trimming your brown piece of card stock to card size and fold.

2.  Trim your second piece of card stock to a square that will be matted with your stamped image.

3. Cut your stamping paper to fit in the mat, and proceed to stamp Heartfelt Creations Majecstic Collage in ink that matches your mat cardstock color.

4. Using Tim Holtz’ distress ink, edge around your stamped sheet.

5.  With a brush, stroke the same ink  used to stamp on to the petals of the flowers.

6. Using glitter spray, spray your card stock and let dry.

7. Stamp sentiment onto brown card stock then layer and glue.

8. Place enamel dots middle of flowers.

9. Place bow or decorative item.

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!

Loving Little B Dies!

Wednesday, July 16th, 2014

If you have been paper crafting for a while then you are familiar with the bigger name brand dies, but lately I am loving Little B dies! I had never heard of them before we started carrying them on our website, so of course I thought I’d give them a try. Good move! They are a fantastic addition to my collection of dies! I absolutely love that they come with their own magnetic storage binder. HUGE PLUS!

Little B dies are chemically etched cutting dies with a special coating for easy release. No ejection foam is needed. With each die set you received a designer inset to help you coordinate your dies with other dies from Little B and a magnetic storage binder. The name of the die is on the spine of the binder and it sits easily on your bookshelf! We know you are going to LOVE these products! Visit Little B Inspiration for more ideas for projects!

Little B philosophy from owner Carol Snyder is really is about YOU, their customers and friends. They could not bring to you the passion, creativity, and quality that enliven all of their products, without their intimate love of crafting and abiding belief that everyone inherently wants to create something fun and beautiful with their own hands for themselves or a loved one. Little B commits their knowledge and experience, which you can rely on for products with that fresh look and boutique feel that Little B exemplifies. Their finely crafted and coordinated products are made with such attention to detail, trends and design elements that they are confident they will enhance your home, office and personal life.

My first purchase of Little B dies was the set of Cutting Dies Tags- #100386. This set somes with 10 tag dies ranging in size from .75 to 6.5″. I used the largest size and next to smallest size to create the following tag, along with a variety of products to embellish the tag which I plan on using on a gift bag.

Little B dies are compatible with most manufacturer manual die cutting machines, and I used my Sizzix Big Shot for this particular project. They cut perfectly with one pass. Just use the same sandwich formula as other wafer thin dies.

Next, I stamped my main flower from Hero Arts Hello Sunshine Daisies stamp set using Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color right on the stamp. I fussy cut the flower so I could use foam squares on the back to raise it away from the tag for a dimensional look.  I used another stamp from that set on the large tag using multiple presses from each inking to achieve the various shades for a background. I then tied the small tag around the main flower with elastic cord. I cut two flourishes from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes by Julianna Hudgins, coated them with Clear Wink of Stella and adhered them to the tag before applying the main flower and tag. then finishing it off with a few tiny pearls on the small tag and ribbon to tie to my gift bag when I’m ready.

Here’s a quick demo using the Little B dies with the Sizzix Big Shot, but if you have another machine, just use the same sandwich as other wafer thin dies.

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!

Heartfelt Creations has done it again, by creating a new collection of baby inspired paper, stamps and die sets in the Sweet Lullaby Collection. This is a great set to add to the craft room, as new baby gifts, tags and cards are needed year round.

HC paper

Today I am working with an intricate card using several items from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Lullaby Collection, Ranger Archival Ink, and  Spectrum Noir markers.

Let’ get started.

1. Select 2 sheets from your Heartfelt Creations Sweet Lullaby Collection paper pack and trim (1) 5.25 in x 4 in. to be the background of card.

2. Stamp Heartfelt Creations “Precious Lullaby PreCut Set”with Ranger Archival ink onto a alcohol marker paper.

3. Begin coloring stamped image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

4. Once stamp imagine coloring is done, proceed to trim and mat on cardstock. Leaving about .25 inch of cardstock exposed.

5.  With second sheet of Sweet Lullaby Collection paper, cut two paper ribbons .75 inch wide by 2 inches long.

6.  Glue paper ribbons on back of the stamped image, slightly overlapping.

7. Place 2 enamel dots on each corner, and garnish with 2 buttons glued with glue dots.

This card is beautiful and the stamps created by Heartfelt Creations have some incredible detail. I cannot wait to continue playing with these gorgeous stamps.
